Lockable, Waterproof, Durable Ammo Can Locking Hardware Kit

Get the lock hardware kit at the store. This kit includes a stud, one large washer, one small washer, one neoprene washer, one grade 8 nylon locknut, and installation instructions. Please note that the ammo can and padlock are NOT included.

To install the locking hardware: 1. Close the lid and latch of the ammo can and mark the center of the hole where the locking hardware will be installed. 2. Drill a 5/16” hole into the can at the center mark. 3. From the outside of the can, insert the locking stud through the drill hole. 4. On the inside of the can, place the neoprene washer over the threads of the locking stud, followed by the small washer and then the nylon lock nut. Tighten the assembly with a wrench, taking care as the locking stud may have sharp edges. 5. For ammo cans with large holes, place the large washer between the ammo can’s latch and the padlock to prevent slipping.

If the locking stud is not centered, file or drill the latch holes of the ammo can until they fit properly.

The lock hardware fits 50 Cal, Fat 50, 30 Cal, 20 mm, and 40 mm ammo cans, and works with medium-sized locks with up to a 1/4" lock shackle.
